Folios 315-316: Joseph Short, [Regulating Officer], Lynn [Kings Lynn]. In consequence of your directions he went to Boston and by leave to give his opinion that it is absolutely requisite for Lieutenant Edmund Elliston Regulating at this place, to have a Boat, the Scorp, the place where the Vessels anchor to unload, or wait for water, being near seven miles from the Town. He acquaints that one of his Midshipman is very unwell owing to fatigue and anxiety in his journey to Oundle, one of Men the Seaman who he has now in jail being very unruly, damning the King and calling on the people of the villages thro which he past to rescue him. Request to be able to send him to Sick Quarters.
