Folios 215-216: George Robinson, Lowestoft. He wrote in October asking for an appointment to the Sea Fencibles or the Impress service, if possible in the Eastern district where he has family. He had heard that the Regulating Captain at Yarmouth was seeking appointment to a ship. The loss of a leg and other wounds received in previous service meant he could not take a more active post, but he had been assured by a previous Board of Admiralty that he would get an appointment, and from a later board that he would be admitted to Greenwich Hospital, neither of which has happened. His promotion to Commander came from what his then Captain, James Cotes, considered to be his distinguished conduct.
