To hold to William Brewer and his heirs of William Paynel and his heirs by the service of half a knight, which William Brewer and his heirs ought to do to William Paynel and his heirs from Brughwalteri [Bridgwater], Stodlegh and Holecumbe [Holcombe] and the tenements which William Brewer has in Uffeculum [Uffculme] for all service, as freely and quietly as Fulk Paynel, William's father, held them, just as Fulk's charter bears witness. William Paynel also granted that William Brewer is not to do any suit in William Paynel's court of Uffeculum [Uffculme], unless at pleas by writs of the king of right, when they happen, and if thieves are to be judged, and this suit is made by one of his freemen from those tenements of Uffculme.
