Description

Captured ship: Four Brothers of Limerick (master Jacques Nevell or Newell).

History: an Irish merchant ship (abandoned by her crew, 1 passenger, Mr Connor who hoped to become a physician in Paris) bound from Limerick to La Rochelle or another port in France, with an unknown lading; taken during June 1695 by the privateerNorrington (William Townsend commanding) and brought into a port in England.

  • [CP 3]: copy of SP 1, an Admiralty register extract issued at La Rochelle;
  • [CP 4]: docket, still attached to the ship's paper.
