Description

Captured ship: St Antoine or St Anthony of Dunkirk (master Antoine Schepious).

History: a French merchant ship (80 tons, 6 men and a boy), bound from Dunkirk to Nantes, in ballast; taken on 10/20 February 1690/1, en route to Nantes by the privateer Elizabeth and Catherine (William Young commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 5]: allegation.

Ship's papers, numbered SP 1-SP 19, including letters, ship's papers, pass, commission: a few relate to the Emanuel (master Adrien de Lange), also taken by Young.
