Description

Captured ship: St Anne (formerly the Golden Apple) of Tunsberg [Tønsberg] (master Pieter Christensen or Christiansen).

History: a Danish Norwegian merchant ship (150 lasts), bound from Tønsberg, Norway to St Martin or La Rochelle, laden with spars, wood, handspikes; taken on 4/14 January 1694/5, off Dover by the privateer Seaventure (George Wells commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 1-CP 2]: standing interrogatories, four examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 3-CP 8]: claim on behalf of merchant owners in Larwick [Larvik], with anexed exhibits: a ship's pass, depositions in Danish, 2 letters and a wrapper;
  • [CP 9-CP 12]: two commissions of appraisement, with inventories attached;

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 13, including various port papers, invoices, receipts. letter and ship's pass.
