Description

Captured ship: Anne of Barbados (master Thomas Coppinge).

History: an English ship (30 tons), bound from Barbados to London, laden with sugar, ginger and cotton; taken on 27 October / 6 November 1695 off Cape Clear, Ireland by an unnamed French privateer and then retaken on 30 October / 9 November 1695 off the Scilly Isles by HMS Newcastle (Charles Wager commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
