Captured ship: Adventure or Friends' Adventure of Hull or York (master Robert Temperton).
History: an English merchant ship (ketch, 40 tons), bound from Cadiz to London, laden with sherry wine, tent wine, raisins, figs; taken in latitude 43°N about 60 leagues off Cape Finisterre by a French man of war (38 guns) and sent in for Brest, retaken on 27 January 1693 about 14 leagues off Ushant by HMS Rupert Prize (Basil Beaumont commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
