Reports on: the departure of the squadron under Admiral [Matthew] Aylmer, from St Helens [Isle of Wight] for the Streights [Straits of Gibraltar]; plans by the new East India company to send ships to the Indies; the choice of aldermen Sir William Gore and Sir Joseph Smart as sheriffs for next year; [Marquis de] Miremont's dragoons landing at Waterford [Ireland], with the Earl of Galway's [de Ruvigny's] regiment of horse the only French regiments from Flanders still not arrived; a decision by the General Court of the New East India Company to call in 20 percent upon subscription, and a decision to send an ambassador to the 'Great Mogull' [Moghul] [Muhi-ud-Din Muhammad, alias Aurangzeb]; and fears for the life of the King [Charles II] of Spain.
