Captured ship: Abigail (Thomas Pattison Master).
History: an English merchant ship bound from [Newcastle?] to Rotterdam, laden with coals, taken on 2/12 March 1696, by the French privateer Bonne Esperance of Dunkirk (Nicolas Kiken commanding), retaken before 10/20 March 1696 by HMS Pearl ([Robert] Holmes commanding) and brought into Dover.
