Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Dominica.
Captured ship: San Francisco Providentia (master Joao Franco).
Nationality: Portuguese.
History: bound from Para 'in the Brazils' to Lisbon, laden with rice, coffee, cocoa, cotton, sarsaparilla, cinnamon and other merchandise; taken on 30 January 1794 by the French and taken into Guadeloupe; retaken there on 5 February 1794 by the privateers Commerce (William Bosworth commanding) and Betsey (Joseph Baillie commanding), and brought into Dominica.
Appellant: The master for the ship and cargo.
Respondent: The captors.
Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 10 July 1801 (folios 9-20).
Decision: to be restored.
