Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Antigua.
Captured ship: Mary (master Johannes Osebrand Ellis).
Nationality: Danish.
History: bound from St Thomas to Surinam, laden with dry goods, pipes, glass ware, oil, soap, candles, nails, cheese, spices, and $6,000 specie in gold and silver coin; taken on 5 June 1797 by HMS Matilda (Henry Mitford commanding), and brought into Antigua.
Appellant: Adolphus Thomas Dorner the supercargo on behalf of Elias Sarquy merchant of St Thomas and John Smith of Altona, and of Ephraim Seligman of St Thomas merchant.
Respondent: The captor and HMPG.
Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 14 June 1800 (folios 110-123).
Decision: ship, cargo and specie to be restored.
