Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Martinique.
Captured ship: Lyon (master Hayk Peter Hayken).
Nationality: Danish.
History: bound from Hamburg to Surinam, laden with dry goods, liquor, ironmongery, and plantation utensils; taken on 8 February 1798 by the privateer Experiment (John Hancock commanding), and brought into Martinique.
Appellant: The master on behalf of himself and the owner, John Smith and Co of Altona.
Respondent: The captor.
Bound printed appeal with manuscript decree of 14 June 1800 (folios 99-109).
Decision: ship and cargo to be restored.
