Description

Prisoner name: Esther Cashell.

Prisoner Age: 44 years.

Court and date of trial: Lancashire Quarter Sessions, Kirkdale, May 1827.

Crime: Larceny.

Initial sentence: Transportation for seven years.

Gaoler's report: Four times before convicted.

Petitioner: Richard Cashell, the prisoner's husband.

Grounds for clemency: Has six children. Was not aware the candlestick was stolen when she attempted to pledge it.

Other papers included: Covering letter forwarding the petition from Mr Gascoyne as his duty to a constituent but saying that he cannot presume to recommend it.
