Captured ship: Charity of London, master James Winsor.
History: formerly an English ship, taken as prize by the Dutch in the last war, bound from Virginia and Maryland to England or Amsterdam, laden with tobacco; seized in early July 1672 in Falmouth.
Documents: examinations; mentions that several letters from Virginia were perused by the deputy vice-admiral of the south coast of Cornwall, who gave them back to the master, to be delivered by the post
