Captured ship: Landt van Belofte or Land of Promise of Amsterdam, master Reinte Tuenis.
History: bound from St Martin to Stockholm, laden with salt, wine, brandy and vinegar; taken on 3 June 1667 off Guernsey by the privateer Success (Terence Byrne commanding) and brought first into Yarmouth and then into Cowes, Isle of Wight.
Documents: examinations and interrogatoriess as to capture, and further examinations as to torture by Byrne of the crew of this and other ships; commission
