Captured ship: Charity of Hamburg, master Jacob Witte.
History: bound from Bordeaux to Dunkirk, laden with high country wine; for contrary winds, came into Cowes road, Isle of Wight, in early February 1665, and was seized when making sail by HMS Mary Rose and brought into Portsmouth.
