Description

Captured ship: St Vincent of Port Louis (master Jean Dreano).

History: a French ship (30 tons, 6 men), bound from Bayonne to Nantes, laden with pitch and tar; taken on 9/20 May 1746 off Jersey by the privateer Success (Philip Winter commanding), and brought into Jersey.

  • [CP 1-CP 3]: prize commissioners letter, two examinations, commissioners' affidavit, docket;
  • [CP 4]: allegation;
  • [CP 5]: abstracts and translations of the 4 ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 4, bills of lading, ship's pass, muster roll.
