Captured ship: Le Neptune of Morlaix (master Jean Noel Barazer, later Louis Lazon).
History: a French merchant ship with a letter of marque (200 tons, 8 guns, 76 men, 1 passenger), bound from Morlaix to Cadiz, laden with linen; taken on 26 April/6 May 1744 about 5 leagues off Ushant by HMS Phoenix (Lord Thomas Bertie commanding) and HMS Gibraltar (RIchard Chadwick commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
