Captured ship: Jane of Eyemouth (master Thomas Kellie or Kelly, and as a French prize, André Theodore Lux).
History: a Scottish ship (brigantine, 60 tons, 5 guns, 5 men and a boy), bound from Rotterdam to Eyemouth, Berwickshire, laden with sweet oil and linseed; taken on 11/22 April 1745 between Flamborough Head and Scarborough by the French privateer L'Union of Dunkirk (itself taken on 16/27 April 1745 off Niewpoort by HMS Falcon), and retaken on 12/23 April 1745 by HMS Jamaica (Robert Jeffries commanding), and brought into Kingston upon Hull.
