Captured ship: St Erich of Stockholm (master Petter Strom).
History: a Swedish merchant ship (45 lasts), bound from Stockholm to Livorno [Leghorn], laden with gunpowder, guns, tar and tobacco for the Dutch consul at Livorno; taken on 24 May/4 June 1746 between Dunkirk and Ostend by the privateer Carlisle (William Owens commanding), and brought into Dover.
