Captured ship: Three Friends (master Matthew Wood).
History: an American merchant ship (brig, 90 tons, 6 men, 35 French passengers), bound from Boston, Massachusetts, laden with tobacco, furs, lignum vitae, fustic; taken on 12 January 1779 in the Bay of Biscay by the privateer Ellen of Liverpool (Thomas Fell commanding), and brought into Liverpool.
Court papers: 1-23; Ship's papers: 24-26.
