History: an American merchant ship (schooner, 30 tons), bound from Great Choptank in Chesapeake Bay to Baltimore, Maryland, laden with flour and Indian corn; taken on17 March 1783 in Chesapeake Bay near the mouth of the Great Choptank River by the privateer Kidnapper (John Kid commanding, and brought into New York.
