Description

British New York Vice-Admiralty Court.

Captured ship: Swan of Philadelphia (master Peter Thornton).

History: an American merchant ship (schooner, 30 tons); taken on 3 April 1783 in latitude 28°N, longitude 75°30'W by the privateer Prince William Henry (Mathew Obrien commanding), and brought into New York.

Court papers: 1-4; Ship's papers: 5-7.
