Captured ship: Royal Oak (master Aaron Middleton).
History: an American merchant ship (sloop, 25 tons, 3 men), bound from Morris River, British New Jersey to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, laden with lumber, boards, shingles, rails; taken on 13 July 1781 in Delaware Bay at Bumbo [Bombay] Hook in Delaware River by the privateer Trimmer (Levin Turner commanding), and brought into New York.
