Description

British New York Vice-Admiralty Court.

Captured ship: Lucy (master David Tatem).

Capture history: an American merchant ship (brigantine, 100 tons, 12 or 13 men, owner a Loyalist), now bound from Pasquotank River, North Carolina to Cadiz, laden with pipe staves and lumber, beeswax and tobacco; taken on 9 June 1779 in latitude 35°25'N, longitude 72°30'W by the privateer Revenge (Anthony Stewart commanding), and brought into New York.

Intended voyage: from the United States to Spain.
