Captured ship: Loup Garou (master Jean Juste Caune).
History: a French merchant ship with a letter of marque (polacre, 130 tons, 12 men) bound from Cadiz to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, laden with salt, wine, brandy and dry goods; taken on 20 June 1780 off the Capes of Delaware, by HMS Galatea (James Reid commanding), and brought into New York.
