Captured ship: Leopard (master Joseph Comstock).
History: an American merchant ship (schooner, 70 tons, 8 men), bound from Edington [Edenton], North Carolina to Tenerife, laden with pipe staves, hogsheads, beeswax; taken on 20 February 1778 in latitude 28°N, longitude 16°W by the privateer Swift (Edward Smith commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
Court papers: 1-5; Ship's papers: 6-33. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
