Captured ship: Leighdown (master Jean Cloarec).
History: a French merchant ship previously an English prize (galette, 50 tons, 5 men), bound from Bordeaux to Brest laden with wine, flour, soap, hams; taken on 16 March 1782 on the coast of Brittainy between the rocks called the Plein Mars and the shore by the privateer Greyhound (Thomas Anqueteil commanding), rivateer Surprise (Edward le Couter commanding),and brought into Jersey.
