Captured ship: Hoop en de Zeeman (master Jacob Sijmens).
History: a Dutch merchant ship (snow, 120 lasts, 11 men), bound from Malaga to Ostend and Bruges, laden with oranges, lemons, almonds, raisins, wine; taken on 26 December 1780 about 28 leagues from Scilly towards Plymouth by HMS Daphne (Lord John Augustus Hervey commanding) and another frigate, and brought into Plymouth.
