Captured ship: Blanchette formerly Mariane (master Jean la Grave).
History: a French merchant ship (50 tons, 10 men), bound from Bayonne to Guadeloupe, laden with wine, flour, cordage, pork, brandy; taken on 30 May 1782 at 4 leagues west of San Sebastian by the privateer Pitt (Thomas de St Croix commanding), and brought into Jersey.
Court papers: 1-3; Ship's papers: 4-5. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
