High Court of Admiralty.
Captured ship: Betsey (master Thomas Jenkins).
History: an English merchant ship (90 tons), bound from Chepstow to Plymouth, laden with timber; taken on 28 July 1780 at Light of St Ives, Cornwall by the privateer American Union of Dunkirk, otherwise L'Union (Joseph Myrick commanding), but ransomed and gone into Plymouth.
