British New York Vice-Admiralty Court.
Captured ship: Bacchus (master William Parker).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (sloop, 16 tons), laden with tobacco; taken on 24 December 1780 in Chesapeake Bay off the Patuxent River, Maryland by the loyalist privateer Sukey (James Ridley commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the United States to [unknown].
Court papers numbered CP 1-2:-
- [CP 1]: affidavit of papers brought in by Ridley, 6 January 1781;
- [CP 2]: libel in Ridley v The sloop Bacchus, 6 January 1781.
