Description

Folios 73-74: Thomas James Maling, Portsmouth. Encloses list of men who have R against their names who from their good conduct since and under His Majesty's Proclamation of last October requests R be taken off. Also encloses letter from Sir Roger Curtis with regard to William Barron who was marked R after the Undaunted sailed for Veracruz, not knowing he was detained in England by the illness of his parents.

Folio 75: enclosure with folios 73-74. List of men marked R from HMS Undaunted whose R requested to be removed. Ships Books: N20 Daniel McElroy R 12 January 1809, N99 William Harlick R 22 May 1809, N377 William Clark R 28 July 1809, N266 William Thomas Barron R 22 March 1809. Signed by Thomas James Maling, Captain.

Folios 76-77: enclosure with folios 73-74. Letter from Roger Curtis, Admirals Office, Portsmouth to Captain Maling dated 9 July 1810. Sets out the case of Mr Barron and why the R against his name should be removed.
