Folios 293-294: John Hancock, HMS Liffey, Deptford. Covering letter for the enclosed copy of the Establishment of HMS Liffey which he received from the Navy office, and as the complement of Petty Officers is the same in an 18 Pound & 32 Gun Frigate with 274 men and 36 Gun Frigate with 284 men. He wishes to know if HMS Liffey with twenty four Pounders, and a complement of 360 men, is to have only six midshipmen and two Master's Mates.
