Folios 123-124: Sir Henry Hotham, HMS Defiance, Ferrol. Sends copies of letter to Lord Gambier.
Folios 126-127: enclosed in folios 123-124. Letter dated 26 August 1809 by Captain Hotham,, HMS Defiance, Ferrol to Lord Gambier. Reports his employing Charles Powell as a Spanish translator as instructed. Now sent him onboard HMS Triumph by Captain Linzee’s orders. Having not received instruction has asked Francisco Fernendez HM Vice Consul to pay him two Spanish hard dollars daily the usual sum and what was paid in Galicia last year.
