Folios 295-296: Sampson Edwards, HMS Saint George, Torbay. Request for Mr Sampson Edwards Collard, his nephew, to be transferred to HMS Saint George. Mr Collard had been appointed Lieutenant on HMS Jupiter by Captain Sampson Edwards' brother, Captain [Valentine ] Edwards a few days prior to the loss of HMS Sceptre, but as he had not quite served his time he was replaced when Sir Roger Curtis arrived at the Cape of Good Hope. Mr Collard returned on HMS Oiseau, where he is presently. He is now on leave to prepare for his examination, Captain Sampson Edwards is keen to have him with him and Captain Linzee [HMS Oiseau] has no objection.
