Description

Folios 148-149: Jonathan Clements, Dartmouth. Reports that L'Adele, a French Cartel, Michel Heron Master, arrived from Moulaix with four women and a child whose names and five sealed parcels have been forwarded to the Transport Board and gives details of a statement by one of the women, Elizabeth Jones, wife of Joseph Jones, late of HMS Proserpine and now a prisoner at Briancon.

Folios 150-151: enclosure with folios 148-149. Statement dated 30 November 1809 by Elizabeth Jones, wife of Joseph Jones, late of HMS Proserpine but now a prisoner at Briancon, who declares how she came to escape and her intention to return home to Plymouth.
