Folios 27-28: Benjamin Carter, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Reports on a number of cases; John Simpkins entered with Lieutenant Evans as a Boy Volunteer, aged 18; John Hughes aged 25 from Anglesea was impressed by Lieutenant Rees; John Jones aged 18 from Chester was entered with Lieutenant Evans; Richard Wheatland, aged 35 from London was impressed by Lieutenant Evans; William Cooper aged 30 years from New York was impressed by Lieutenant Evans; Daniel Corbon aged 26 years from Philadelphia; Reynold Wisely aged 21 years from Eastern Shore, Virginia impressed by Lieutenant Pogson.
Folio 29-30: enclosure in folios 27-28. Letter dated 13 November 1809 from John Carter, Clerk to the Magistrates, Coventry to the Admiralty stating that John Simpkins was an Apprentice and Indentured to William Bradshaw a watchmaker.
Folio 31: enclosure in folios 27-28. Certificate dated 8 November 1809 before Samuel Whitwell, Justice of the Peace in Coventry that John Simpkins had absconded.
Folio 32-33: enclosure in folios 27-28. Letter dated 10 November 1809 from Thomas Morton in support John Hughes who seeks release in exchange for two Landsmen as he has a wife and small children in Anglesea.
Folios 34-35: enclosure in folios 27-28. Letter dated 13 November 1809 from John Owen, Brazier, of Chester in support of John Jones, his legal Apprentice, who absconded and whose return he now seeks.
Folios 36-37: enclosure in folios 27-28. Petition dated 14 November 1809 by Richard Wheatland pleads his case for release having never been a seaman and is a Freeman of the City of London, with a supporting oath for his good character by Malcolm Dunnett.
Folio 38: enclosure in folios 27-28. Protection Certificate dated 25 October 1807 by David Gelston, Collector of the District of New York, that William Cooper is a Citizen of the United States of America.
Folio 39: enclosure in folios 27-28. Admiralty Certificate of Discharge dated 20 June 1807 [Year not clear] signed by Captain James Athol Wood, HMS Latona, Halifax Harbour for William Cooper being an American.
Folio 40: enclosure in folios 27-28. Printed Certificate dated 27 March 1809 from S Bullock, Deputy Collector of the District of Savannah that Daniel Corbon Jun, an American Seaman is a Citizen of the United States of America.
