Folios 16-17: William Charlton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. On the directions of Mr Barrow's letter, reports on the case of William Stephenson who was impressed by Lieutenant Consite at Sunderland and then employed as a carter or heaver of coals on the River Wear, having no exemption from impress, he stated himself to be a Ship's Carpenter but with no evidence, encloses his Petition which is unsupported by Affidavit.
Folios 18-19: enclosure in folios 18-19: Petition dated 11 November 1809 of Richard Stephenson on behalf of his son William Stephenson who served as apprentice with Messrs Fishburn and Brodrick, Shipbuilders of Whitby, has never been to sea and should be considered a Landsman, asks for his son to be discharged.
