Folios 87-88: Walter Bathurst, HMS Fame, Gillingham Reach. He encloses a list of the American seamen serving on HMS Fame who are requesting their discharge. He gives details of several of them, who had requested their discharge only when they returned to England and another who had taken the bounty. He sayes the men have asked for assurances that they will not be sent to prison when they arrive in England. He said to them he could not give them a promise on that point but would do all he could to prevent their imprisonment by making an application to the authorities on their behalf. This he now does and asks for their liberty.
Folio 89: enclosure to folios 87-88. Return of Americans aboard HMS Fame. The names given are; Samuel Lyman, John Bogg, George Ross, Jonathan G. Hubbett, Henry Bonner. Their place of birth is given and other details and remarks.
