Folios 314-315: Henry Edward Reginald Baker, HMS Dannemark art sea [position given]. Advises that he has sent copies of letters for the Admiralty with the East India Company ship, Glatton, parting company at St Helena, from the Woodbridge a recaptured merchant ship. Reports HMS Albacore separated on 30 March 1814 with six trade bound for the ports of Pernambuco, Batia, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aries. Advises that Captain Thomas Saville Griffinhoofe, HMS Muros was sent on 5 March 1814 to recall 5 of the convoy did not rejoin him off Madeira, the appointed rendezvous. 2 missing Indiamen the Glatton and the Royal Charlotte joined but 2 Merchant ships in company with them put into Funchal Roads and lost the convoy while the Thomas Merchant ship bound to the Cape put into Funchal and joined the convoy. The George Canning of Liverpool was the ship left at Funchal. Supposes that Captain Griffinhoofe will proceed to the Port of Marankam and collect the Trade. Lists the vessels now under convoy in the margin: East India Company - Winchelsea, Asia, Europe, Castle Huntley, Royal Charlotte, Margaret Huntley, Surat Castle and Astell; Transports - Marchess 275, Olive Branch 502, Fame 500; Private Trade - Regent; Merchant ships - Thomas and Alacrity brig.

Folios 315-316: enclosure with folios 314-315. Letter, dated 26 March 1814, Henry Edward reginald Baker, HMS Dannemark at sea to the Admiralty. Encloses a letter from Captain James Boxer, HMS Albacore, stating he has recaptured the Woodbridge Merchant ship, George Henry Tweedy, master, from Calcutta bound for London, which the American cruiser, Little Adams, has quit when the weather cleared with HMS Albacore and HMS Dannemark being not more than 8 09 miles from her. Explains he did not give chase as he did not want to separate the convoy, however at daylight on the following morning, 25 March 1814, the enemy's vessel was standing at too great a distance for HMS Albacore to come up to him. States he is indebted to Captain Boxer for his zeal during the chase and the good look put kept on board HMS Albacore who reported by telegraph the hearing of guns and the signals to sail which induced him to give Boxer the signal to chase.

Gives an account of the chase of the American cruiser USS John Adams or USS Little John Adams on the afternoon of 24 March 1814 and the recapture of the Coventry ship Woodbridge from Calcutta bound to London with rice and sundries which had been taken that afternoon by the American ship which during 2 months she has been cruising has made 5 captures. States that it is now calm and with the enemy not more than 3 miles away, he has great hopes of bringing the enemy to action
