Folios 308-312: Frederick William Burgoyne, HMS Port Mahon, Spithead. Reports his arrival at Spithead, having left St Thomas on 3 July 1814 with the Leeward Island fleet under convoy and belonging to different ports in St George's and Bristol Channel. Explains how difficult it was to keep the convoy together and that by the time he reached the Hook of Waterford all but one Bristol ships had parted company. Encloses a copy of his orders.
Folio 309: enclosure with folios 308-312. Orders, dated 28 June 1814, from Sir Michael Seymour, Captain, HMS Hannibal, St Thomas', to Frederick William Burgoyne, HMS Port Mahon. Directs Burgoyne, to take charge of the convoy when it arrives off Cape Clear and proceed with the Trade bound for Cork, Bristol and St George's Channel and see them safely into Cork, and accompany the remainder bound for Bristol and St George's Channel as far as the small locks and light house.
Folio 310: enclosure with folios 308-312. Directions, dated 28 June 1814, from Sir Michael Seymour, HMS Hannibal, to Frederick William Burgoyne, HMS Port Mahon. Following orders received from Rear Admiral Philip Durham, directs Burgoyne. to put himself under his command and to obey all Directions' Signals.
