1 collective petition (11 people from Ilkestone, Derbyshire, including the prisoner's wife Elizabeth West) on behalf of John West convicted at Nottingham Assizes in March 1826 for a burglary in Stapleford, near Nottingham against Mathey Sheapperd. Grounds for clemency: distress of wife and children who have no support, honest and sober character, first offence, left country in August 1829, now in New South Wales. Initial sentence: life transportation. Annotated: nil, answered 25 February 1831. NP 38
