Description

Folios 262-270. Africa, Germany: code 418, file 2991, paper 23842.

Sent by James B Whitehead, the British Embassy, Berlin (ref 6) on 13/07/1906.

Reports conversation with von Tschirschky who explained weight Germans attached to obtaining declaration that British Government would raise no objection to future regulation of boundary between German East Africa and Congo State as a return for cession of Mfumbiro; Erskine advises that any such assurance should be given separately (includes printed copy).
