Appendix 5: Copy letter from Robert Millions, Assistant Master Attendant at Chatham Yard to Sir Robert Barlow. He finds no apparent decrease in the channel of either the Bridge or the Limehouse Reaches in the River Medway. Mud has built up from the Victualling Office to the Gun Wharf between High and Low water marks, owing to obstructions such as jetties and Hards at Chatham Reach. He observes that the river tends to be deeper at its narrower points and vice versa.
