John Wilson Croker. Receipt of a copy letter from Mr Harrison on the discontinuance of the Transport Office and transfer of duties of that department in time of peace to the Victualling and Navy Boards. We have advised the Transport Board of the number of Clerks, as set out, which we consider it will be necessary to transfer. However, we recommend retention at the current Transport Board sufficient Clerks to bring up the arrears to a given date. We also recommend keeping the names of transferred Clerks on separate lists.
