Description (What the record is about)
-
Copy letter from William Grenfell and R.G. Spedding, for the Mines Royal Company, complaining that they are being deprived of supplies of old copper from the Yards, at an affordable price, which means that they are no longer able to supply the requisite quantity of new copper sheets. The situation has been exacerbated by the loss of two cargoes of copper that were being shipped to Swansea for re-manufacturing: one being carried in the Friendship, which was captured by the French, and the other in an unnamed vessel which foundered off Swansea. Concludes with an analysis of the costs of collecting and re-manufacturing copper, in support of their complaint.
Enclosure.
