William Marsden. We have no objection to the Commander-in-Chief in the Mediterranean authorising the purchase of any quantity of Maltese cotton manufacture recommended by Captain Hardy in the Victory, that he may think proper to be worn by men in the Fleet under his command. However, we do not think that it has the durability of British linen, now used for frocks and trousers.
