Description

William Marsden. Commissioner Sir Charles Saxton reports that on 27th September there was an explosion in the magazine of the Bellerophon, caused by loose powder. Four Shipwrights were injured, three of them so severely that they will be unable to work for many months. Sir Charles thinks it would be appropriate to recommend to order Captains to ensure that the utmost care should be taken in clearing powder out of magazines.
